If you believe in something
Stick to it, do not give up
Even when it seems hopeless
It will all be worth it in the end
If you have a talent, exploit it
Do not listen to those who say that you can’t do it
Your harshest critics will be the first
To praise you when things work out
When faced with adversity
Learn through the experience
And never let it happen again

My Sweet and Sour Lollipop
When I look at you
I feel you are in a lot of pain
Don’t try to deny it!
And I feel for you
Coz you deal with it the wrong way
And sadly you can’t help it.
That’s why I can’t be mad at you
Sometimes your aim is not to maim
Yet how naturally you play it
Who would have conceived at first glance
That this wonderful looking cherub
Could do such a cold thing
All I’m left with is to pray constantly
For a complete change of character
And even though I feel like clobbering this creature to a clod
I still treasure this crony of a soul
Tis my sweet and sour lollipop

Forbidden Fruit
Sometimes the idea, the thought
Beats my logic and mind
I cannot think of how
I could never say
‘I’ am satisfied and good bye’
You have filled my heart,
What I thought I knew
You emphasized, I give you many thanks
Which cannot be said, but
...can be seen through actions
Although many barriers seem to come,
We shall remain strong to the skies
I cannot express my love in words
But deeds will let the four letter word
Be visible
Do you remember the nights under the glaring moon
The sharp eyes of the stars,
Blinking in the skies
As we whimpered and gyrated our muscles?
I remember your bodily fragrance
Which is better than any I’ve found here
Or from then natures own
Your soft hands, held me tightly
And the smile,
It’s so innocent but also motherly
When you touch me
Aah! How cool I feel
And when it could happen daily
Just a few days remaining
Before I bid you farewell
Yet i do not want it to be real
But what can I do?
Though my blood and kin,
I have eaten the forbidden fruit
That I can’t eat the acknowledged one
I’ll live with this guilt till His second coming

They Made Us Slaves (Part 2)
I’m very disappointed in the diaspora cause its full of haters. And its sad because when they talk about we, they refer to them and their adopted country folk. Which is ok, cause we don’t really need them back here, we are doing just fine. This is to the Kenyan and Ethiopian haters. Kenyan haters cause you have been trying to fuck our game up and Ethiopian haters cause when I wrote the first post, you nearly murdered me on the net. And also offline. I’m not here to try and impress you. So stop trying to impress me. I’ve heard of American National Bank Of Texas, have you heard of Ndetika Rural Sacco Ltd Savings & Credit Societies or Dashen bank? Does that impress you? Yes we know Visa, you heard of Kenswitch or Pesa Point? Yes, this is a 3rd world country, hell, the entire Africa is 3rd world, but we are building our own technologies, our own systems and we are doing it from here. Not there. We have crawling internet, Safaricom is fucking us over, Zain is confused, EMTN wont allow competitors, but the mutherfucking cable is here. Amen. And its changing. We have Berries, we Tweet, we Mac, fucking hell even Wesonga has Nancy. Even Meles Zenawi is on twitter and thats something to be proud of. We might be fighting for one acre of land with those matoke eating bastards Ugandans, and Martha Karua has gone to find God, Jesus and State House, I’m wondering if her clande is guiding her on some of those topics, and the sun is still melting our asses making us a tad shade darker when we walk through our streets hustling for bread and water to become closer to Jesus, and I can even afford to have a muthefucking stalker., we had our own Enron, and matter of fact, Obama ain’t Kenyan. Don’t mistake heritage with your own personal bragging rights shit. I’m Kenyan like Obama. Its on your blog. Being born in Nyandarua is far from birth in Honolulu. Even I know that. But your ignorant asses are sweating us. Treating us like we are down here and you are up there, hell even Meles Zenawi is on twitter. Progress. Look, we love politics, and Raila and Kibaki will still rumble, Kibera will still pull out train tracks in years to come, but we are not yet forgotten, obscure or dead. You are.
Don’t get me wrong, there are brilliant geniuses out there in the diaspora who we are working with, there are those who say they will do, and I’m still waiting (I know I’m guilty of this one), there are those who are busy doing shit and won’t want shit to do with us which is cool, but its you who from two oceans away want to stick your tongue up my asshole get into my business and criticise me for what I say or do without any construction in your words. What? is your mind still under construction? Do you fucking see a million dollar budgets around here? Nobody is against constructive criticism, but you are just hating. There are people in the diaspora who have are magicians, I mean Window is building us a window to explore the world, Erik and Juliana are giving us voices, and we are talking, Wangari is playing that movie again, guys I haven’t ever talked to like Maluka are painting the world, SomaliaArtiste who is waiting for her day to play with Mogadishu sand, alongside Knaan, Jal is rapping the shit out of the Sudan war, Obie and his birthed out a new soldier (God bless), but all you haters are simply showing us that they bought new cars and shit. 401 and credit cards, dudes, we have Okoa Jahazi by Safaricom. Even Wesonga insured Nancy so he is somewhere. And we even got greens we call veggies and digest them over the roofs and make yesterday disappear for a minute or two but we are not fucking with the white lines not even when we are parking our cars. You are. Shit, we can’t afford that in the first place, and who knows who to ask for that shit?
All I’m saying is come on, give us a break. Let us hustle as we know how to, or how the day permits us to. We are doing our best and if its not good enough for you, Frisco bridge has sure lots of spots which have diving boards and the ocean water looks so inviting.

Jemedari

Jemedari started pursuing music professionally in 2004 by taking part in several battles and showcases. At the time he was based in Nakuru. He moved to Nairobi in 2006 to pursue a degree at JKUAT. He got signed to Delite Studios where he produced his first tracks, notably “Tell Me”, a collaboration with the Eclipse Dancers which enjoyed wide airplay in EATV, K24 and several stations in Uganda.
In 2007 he made the move from Delite Studios and started experimenting with different sounds and producers. He also fully launched his professional songwriting by penning down a few songs for the Eclipse Dancers on their debut singles. He also made the cover of the entertainment segment of Taifa Leo on October 27th.
In 2008 he got involved in the NACADA Drug Campaign. This included the artist retreat at Simba Lodge, Naivasha. Also notable at this time was the versatile venture of taking on spoken word poetry. This culminated in being the KWANI? Open Mic featured poet in April 2009. He also featured as an artist in the Kenya Music Week, held at the Sarit Center in December 2008. It is also in this year that he teamed up with producer Voodoo and started several project in a bid to change the industry and the perception of underground artists in the mainstream world.
This year, Jemedari has graced several stages including showcase performances for the MTV ROAD TO MAMAs, NTV Viewerthon (which he was also the host), The Underground Festival hosted by Big Kev. He is also credited with being the first artist to fuse classical and traditional elements into a hiphop environment and this is widely evident in his music. His performances always include at least two live instruments and his energy and stage presence is appealing.
His notable Achievements are:
- Releasing Resurrection (Debut Album) & @ War Vol. 1 & 2 ( mixtape albums)
- A poetry collection
- Numerous performances on different platforms
- Several mainstream singles that have received several acclaim both locally and internationally, thanks to the internet.
- A steady online following, evident by the number of views, online plays, downloads and music streams on both his featured pages. [facebook group: JEMEDARI], [www.igrooves.net/jemedari]
- Television appearances and interviews including the MTV Road to MAMAs, NTV Viewerthon, The RE-UP, The Citizen Breakfast Show and Grapevine.
- Radio interviews including My Block with Jack Omamo (Homeboyz Radio)
Jemedari will release his second album NUMERO UNO this December.
In conclusion, it is quite evident that this highly talented individual is going places and I am confident that he is the next big thing in the music industry.

The Cry of an African Girl

A chance to be what I wanted to be
was all I ever needed
A woman leader who’ll bring change
to the lives of the women and girls
in my village.
As I sat besides the three-stoned cooking fire
together with my mother
she kept throwing glances
at my serious looking face.
Then she broke the silence
that had existed between us.
‘Awuor’ she called me
‘Yes mum’ I answered silently,
staring at the furiously burning fire
and the boiling ‘bo’ mkunde in the cooking pot.
‘they are coming to take you soon’ she said.
I looked away,
My heart filled with so much rage
Tears lingering in my eyes
Biting my lips so hard
Trying not to let my tears fall out.
‘Why mama’ I whispered
‘ Am so young, am only 12, I have to finish school
Why should I be his seventh wife
Isn’t he satisfied with the ones he already has
Why should I get married to the fat bellied
Weak, almost 100 years old man,
He is supposed to be my grandpa.
Mama why?’ I asked bitterly
Letting off tears that I couldn’t hold back anymore.
‘Its our tradition, he is rich
We need wealth to educate your brothers’
Was all my mama could say.
Barely a week later,
On my way back from the river
My little body was merciless grabbed
by three men from a nearby bush,
my water pot fell down to pieces,
my water spilled and dissolved in the hot sands
I screamed for help
But my wails faded in thin air
No one came to my rescue
I protested to no avail.
My tireless efforts to free myself
landed me at the home of my supposed ‘husband’
the other wives came out of their huts and watched jealously
‘ha ha ha, welcome my queen’
He applauded loudly with his croaky voice,
joyfully looking at me with his wrinkled ugly face.
Welcome my queen, he repeated
’Thanks grandpa’ I mumbled
‘Your husband’ He corrected
‘Grandpa’ I insisted
I was irritating him
‘Set her free, she’ll get used’ he told his thin legged boys
And I was dropped down with a thud.
Five months later
I started resembling him, fat bellied.
my protruding stomach leading, my back following
He had played his role,
Ploughed on a fertile land.
The community praised him.
In this merciless world
I brought forth another innocent soul
to be disgraced with the fucking traditions.
Traditions that took away my innocence
My ambition- to be a women leader
to save the girls from facing the wrath
of these brutal human beings,
To go beyond borders and
step over the irrelevant cultures
Cultures that broke my little delicate walls.

The Situation
She takes her time, gets confused in the midst of her own existence
No one ever took her seriously, she had a word for every feeling within her
I should let you be, she said. Am tired of been it she said
I just happen to be a person you happen to like
I made you feel good for a second anyway....
And you made me feel good for a second anyway........
No one is the victim here
Am not the horse neither am i the whore
just because i took in some of you
I've ridden before and i have been ridden before
Dont victimise, have done nothin beyond the norm
It is just but a situation

Breasticulation
It seemed like a good idea at the time,
but when I had to remove my top and bra I got shy.
He was looking at me, a patient look in his eyes,
so I lay down on the bed and tried to relax
trying not to think of what was to come.
I wish I could say he was gentle
but no, he squeezed my breasts like they were lemons
and he was looking for juice!!!
Then he told me you should do this more often,
i looked at him with an incredulous look.
Then it was all over,
my breast check was done,
good news, no lumps found,
bad news, i felt violated.

Ode Of Tears

It seems that no matter how
hard I tried not to hurt you,
I hurt you all the more.
Every tear you shed for me,
Broke me in two,
For I could not stand to see your tears;
An incessant reminder of what I’d done.
You may have said your goodbyes,
But as for me,
I know this is not the end.
We never promised each other much,
You and I,
But the little we did, I broke;
And this is killing me inside,
Slowly gnawing at my conscience; at me.
I have become one with my guilt;
It in me, and I in it.
My reflection betrays me,
All I see is you staring back at me;
The same sparkling eyes I loved,
Stained by tears of hurt and pain;
The same smile I loved;
Twisted and contorted, as you battled within;
The same sensual lips I tasted,
Now salty and bitter in remorse;
The same you i loved,
Yet hurt so bad.
In this life I have made mistakes,
I am only human anyway;
But this; this I cannot explain.
I do not know even where to begin.
To make you cry, to cause you that much pain;
I cannot forgive myself.
Your gift to me,
Was more than just love.
More than just friendship,
More than just about you,
Or more than just about me,
But rather of us both
And what we shared,
And I let it all go.
The road ahead is vague and unsure,
I revel in my yesterday,
In my memories of long ago,
In times I spent with you;
And of the heartache I had caused.
And it saddens me all the more,
That you’ll never know of how I really I feel,
As the courage to tell you this fails me,
And so I write this ode of tears in my heart;
Hoping that someday,
It will find its way to you.

My Ex
We were having issues, my girl and I. After some discussion, we decided to cool it for a while and see other people. Later, she told me that she had met someone else. Apparently the guy was older, more mature, treated her better and gave her more space than I ever did. Given the problems we’d had I said it was fine by me. My mind viewed it positively, as a way to move on and make a fresh start while my heart had different views altogether.
When we officially broke up she sent her friend over to bring the stuff that I’d left at her place on my numerous visits. Now it was my turn. I hadn’t realized how hard it would be, letting her go. Although she was out of my life she was still very much in my heart and on my mind. That notwithstanding, I gathered all her things, put them in a box and headed to her apartment against the advice of my best friend who had insisted he takes them himself.
When I got there, the door was ajar so I let myself in. I could hear voices coming from the kitchen, hers and someone else’s. It felt wrong but I headed that way. My heart was pounding in my chest and I was insanely jealous all of a sudden since I had the feeling that the male voice belonged to the current guy in her life. To say that I was shocked when I got there and saw them laughing and in a mini-embrace is an understatement. The older guy it turned out was none other than MY DAD!!

Your Time Will Come
People are dying of hunger
And Instead of helping
You are busy diverting funds for your own use
And then claim there’s no money
Mr. Big Man your time will come
And you’ll pay for your deeds
You make a living by stealing
And instead of being content with your loot
You terrorize, rape and kill your victims too
You seem to enjoy it
Mr. Thief, your time will come
And you’ll pay for your deeds
Parents trust you and they Leave
Their Children under your care
And instead of teaching them
You sexually abuse them
Mr. Teacher, your time will come
And you’ll pay for your deeds
You run a children’s home
You give shelter to orphaned kids
But you sell them to foreigners
Under the guise of adoption
God knows what happens to them
Mr. Man, your time will come
And you’ll pay for your deeds

My Struggles as a man…
my struggles as a man…
they keep me from self actualization and wholeness
I have an inability to communicate my emotions
I have been socialized to suppress them
the only form of communication I know is aggression
I feel silenced when frustrated, disappointed, sad or lonely
because I cannot identify what it is I am feeling
I do not know how to express it constructively
probably this is the reason I speak in slang’
because without an emotional outlet I feel like a mute person
a mute person trying to speak a foreign language
I am expected to live up to the myth..
the sex athlete myth...
to most of my peers it is not a challenge
they probably think it is a right of passage
or the natural order of the universe
sadly this is a creation of society
too many of my peers have bought into this myth
and have the seeds of their misdeeds scattered nationwide
others have succumbed to the ravages of deadly STD’s
but still…inferior are those who are not athletes in bed
for their sexuality shall always be questioned
and aspersions cast on the size of their manhood
as a man I have to struggle to be the moneybags man
the moneybags man is all so powerful…
he has money…power…influence…
resultantly his doors open up effortlessly
me…I have to put up with the everyday world
dead end jobs…internal discontent…heartbreak…
spend months trying to woo the apple of my eye for a night out on the town…and then she refuses
this struggle to prove I am as good as mister moneybags is all too time and energy consuming
I struggle to paint a positive picture of men
but all around me the ladies retort…
“I don’t need a man in my life…”
I cannot blame them for these remarks
in my world…many men have not been raised to be men
they have been raised to be males
being a man is much more than pissing standing up…
it’s about integrity…responsibility…
honesty when it’s not the easy way out
being a man is treating people like human beings…like equals…
I struggle to be a positive role model
these are my struggles as a man

My World
Come step into my world
I will dress you all in black and even dye your hair. . I love rock music, turn it up loud
when you are gothic like me, the lyrics will make you proud.
Step into the darkness, say goodbye to the light. .
We will live in an eternity, where everyday is night.
I know you think lm freaky. . Go analyse me
But in my heart l know, a gothic is what l want to be. .

Special Person
Special person of my dreams where are you
i have looked for you everywhere but to no avail
will you be restricted to my dreams
or shall i one day meet you
sometimes i feel like the best would be
To forget about you and move on
but when i see other people with their special persons
I'm encouraged and i look harder for you
i don't know how long i can hold on
but i'll try and wait for you special person.

A Dog In The Manger
Selfish and confused,
Feelings deep inside me,
I know they are there
They want to be free
But am a little scared
The feeling is stronger than my fear,
but what will they say?
There is something wrong with me,
Everytime i let my self listen
It kills me to know
The stupidity of mixing the past with desire
I should have known,
We all have our past,
Rome was not built in a day
It never takes a day to clear up
Now am at the door,
Not ready to enter,
nor ready to let anyone else enter
The selfish watch guard
All i ask of you
Hold my hand
because am afraid
Tell me not to worry
let me see you understand
Understand that
my loud personality
only expresses my little heart
Just to let you know
Am a dog in the manger
Now am sick and tired of it
Have taken my chances
Am not ready to let go
Cant be the door keeper no more
I want it to myself
I know it wont be easy

Gift of Death
Thank you for living the life I gave you.
A life you never asked for.
A life you never wanted.
Had no choice but to live it.
Thank you.
Well done.
You bore the burden/gift.
So many years.
I must reward you,
With a prize many envy, but are too ashamed to ask for.
You don't have to ask, I know you want it.
A reward for all your troubles.
To make it worthwhile.
You need not hold my breath for me any second longer.
You can give it back now.
You're free.
Breathe no more.

Stay
Stunned at the choices hearts make
yearning for the one who'll your heart break
ignoring the melody of the quiet song
the one that quietens our restless fears,
the one for which unconsciously our souls long
and so we rarely recognize it even when we had it all along
and if we are fortunate enough to hear it..
we probably just catch the closing notes
as it walks out of our lives....
You are my song...stay

I can Rise From the Ashes
It's so painful, it hurts, so painful it burns
I cannot believe it has happened
And happened in this manner, oh no.
That is what hurts and burns the most
In the deepest chambers of my heart.
Didnt they warn me and tell me
Yes they did and what they predicted
has come true in prophetic fashion
Much to my dismay and disbelief.
How could it be that I was so wrong?
Yes I was head strong in my ways
I believed I was on the right path
and that they were just naysayers
who had nothing but illwill and bad wishes
For me and my plans, they were the haters!
Yes I might have been right in some ways
But not all voices are to be shunned
There are always voices of reason amongst us
If only I had cared to listen out for them
If only, if only, if only, regret is a useless feeling.
And I cannot continue like this
For in defeat I am not finished
I can only pick and dust myself up
And contemplate on what just happened
And learn from the experience.
And in this simple act of acceptance
A new dawn beckons for me
Armed with experience coupled with
The humbling manner of my failures
I can now look forward to a different, brighter future!
I CAN RISE FROM THE ASHES!!

Lonely hunter
In the vast savannah, brown and whistling
It resuscitated self and stretched the long folded arms
In the middle of a land full of treachery
And thought it might not be buried again
Without accomplishing the virtue
Full of erect manifold it moves fecund and bouncy
With little eccentrics or indifference
And races towards the human pretence
With agility
With agility
The lonely hunter has no future
No catch to hunt all gone with the harsh wind
But…one catch sets self in
The hunter snares it
Feeling important and chest-thumping
He fends the limping catch well, watches its move
And offered a helping hand
The emotional thirst ran deep in him
But he kept his knife in the scabbard
Waiting for the right time
The catch, now able to jump and move about
Just sleeps as the hunter sweats over
It moves hereabout and does not care about
As the hunter continues
Then one day, just one day
Things went outside the fence
And the hunter settled the wind
Raised above the normalcy
With little ineptitude
The catch ran away
And the hunter has gone bitter
Wished he had eaten her earlier
Than wait

What's love got to do with it
I met him and we fell deep in love. He was so caring, gentle and loving. He was handsome, a prince among men. I felt so loved n special, all my friends were envious. He was perfect.
The first time it happened I couldn’t believe it. He asked me something I can’t remember what but I remember I thought that it was something that was none of his business. I answered rudely saying it was none of his business. That's when he slapped me. I was in so much shock I didn’t even cry or scream.
I walked out of that house vowing never to come back. I went to my gal's house to plot my way forward .he found out where I was. He sent me flowers, tried to call. Then he sent me a card saying "am sorry baby I didn’t mean to hurt you. I love you. Come let me make it up to you. I will never ever hit you again. Come home baby."
I thought about it, prayed. I remembered the good times and I couldn’t believe that he would hurt me again. I knew him; he was one of the good guys. I went back and he was my old love, my best love. And that’s how it all began.

Ours
Ours should come when our spirits bond. Ours should be beyond the look in our eyes, the touch of your hands, the erection of our organs and nerves.
If people have found the L. the O. the V. and the E. to describe how they feel for one another then ours should be beyond Love!
Ours should be beyond bodily contact. Ours should be rich in spirit, ours should enrich our souls so that when we die, we will still be together! For ETERNITY!
Ours should be beyond words, ours should be about passion, ecstasy and the depth of life.
Ours should be beyond humanity, it should be angelic so that we please our Father. .
Ours should be beyond special, beyond emotions, beyond chemistry, and beyond the realms of life!
In case I ever say 'I love u', it will be from God's breath!

Hope & Believe (I Still)
A man broke my heart today, for a moment I thought he was you
But the shattering pain that he left behind assured me that he couldn't be
I didnt like that he came to me and made me hope and believe
I wish that maybe you could come instead and take these tears away
The hackneyed view of a girls prince charming has never involved this hurt
But I'm willing to try again and give this love thing a chance
And maybe the man I'll be with tomorrow is the one who deserves my heart..

Desperate… somehow but manage to live on!
The evening wind, gracefully blowing towards the west,
Running after the lazy withdrawing shadows
Without hasting to look back
In the vanities of the nature
Somehow, under desperate eagerness, we manage to move on!
Then under the glaring and shameless moonlights and the twinkles
It runs again, from here to there and back
As if there is no turning back
It moves in the majestic peace
Somehow, under the desperate eagerness, we manage to move on!
Then, it comes to me and I quickly accept it
Hoping for the best in the time it exists in my arms
It wimps, breaths, sighs, cries in my arms
But I sooth it with a smile
Somehow, under the desperate eagerness, I manage to move on!
On morning, I humbled myself thinking of the eternal
Like a young person on a journey of conquering
I made up my mind, to open my heart
And allow it inside mine, sewn against and inside mine
Somehow, under desperate eagerness, I manage to move on!
Right now, I digress
Because of my insensitivity and supporting that who fights us
Not wanting to take sides, with them
And they put me asunder
Somehow, under desperate eagerness, I manage to move on!
I try searching for my self
In the vanity of wallowing hatred,
And fail to locate my heart, soul and mind
That I hide under the wallowing noise
Somehow, under desperate eagerness, I manage to move on!
I live here, without a voice
Feeling deeply etched in guilt
In a resounding novelty of catastrophic cacophony
And still, still
I manage to survive under the desperate eagerness!

My Word Man
They say it kills poetry to read another's prose,
but your sonnets are my only links to your joys, your woes
Words are not my form of expression but I understand yours
like a fish takes to the sea, and you love me so intensely,
I gasp when I think what you think when you think of me..
You are my word man, you have captured my heart
and even though we don't speak the same language
you have made love become my art
You are my word man you have seen my soul bare, completely true
and though its hard for you to see I’ve never lost standing with you
You are my word man..
you are teaching me things I didn't think I’d ever know......
my word man, my past, my now, .....my tomorrow?

Zuqka on Wamathai
My blog is featured in the Daily Nation’s Magazine Zuqka.
The feature reads:
“I can almost bet that you’ve had one of those weird moments in the matatu where you sit next to someone and try to get a conversation started.
Sample Wamathai’s art of flirting: ‘I am seated in a matatu. The woman next to me is very pretty…I try the subtle mysterious approach first I look out the window and twist my body into a cool pose, hoping she will notice me and say something. It doesn’t work…’
His poetry fills the pages of his blog and is often thought provoking; sometimes I get the feeling he’s trying to get through to someone in particular and the best way is through his blog.
However, what I like most about this blog is that it’s not aloof. No imaginary situations, no NGO-speak, just real life. Like the one he wrote about being more than just friends…something you might want to check out. “
Thank you, Njeri Kihang’ah.

Kamuti - love spell
Some say you must have put for me that kamuti,
That our love ain't natural.
They say there are so many men out there,
Why are you sticking to this particular one, and he's so far away?
They can’t explain it, why I love you,
I can’t explain it either.
It’s not something I set out to do,
Like, oh am going to fall for you
Never let go of this love.
It’s not that it doesn’t hurt,
This distance, this space between us.
Sometimes I wish I could untie the knots you have tied,
Across my heart so I can be free to love again.
Get so lonely sometimes,
I would dearly love to put my head on your shoulder
For comfort but I can’t.
But when I think about you not being in my life
At all the pain cuts like a knife.
I feel like my heart is ruptured and bleeding
Toxic acid into my system.
I am in a catch 22,
Damned if am with you and damned if am not.
So I don’t know, is it really that love portion
Or the natural kamuti that stirs my heart
Towards you and only you,
Because my heart wants what my heart wants,
And my heart wants you.

If tommorow never comes
When tomorrow starts without me,
And am not there to see
If the sun should rise and find your eyes
Filled with tears for me
I wish so you wouldnt cry for me
Thinking of all the things
we said and never said
Please understand that an angel
Came and called me by name
And said that my place is ready
In heaven far above
If tomorrow never comes
Grace:
Just know i love you to bits
You are my sister and you mean more than the world to me
Above all, Lets make mum proud
I have not been the perfect of people
for there is no perfect person
But i have been the best i could
Probably the best possible
Papa,
It hasnt been easy raising me
I made you laugh and wonder loads
I watched too many movies in my teenage hood
Worse never missed a line in my life
I hope in my little life
I have made up for all the times i annoyed you
I hope you are proud of me
Shushu
Wow! Wat to tell you?
Just to let you know
I wish i could do repay you
Been more than a mother to me
I only have one wish
That all the children in the world
Would have you as their grandma
Or have one just like you
G
Shiku George George
The Paradox in my life
You caused me the most pain
Yet you made happier beyond my imagination
Anything else am sure i told you
Guess my friends shall
Have their wish come true
Some of them
just to see you
Others to talk to you
Be who you are
You are one in a million
To My Gals,
Dont know where to start,
For all those that havent found true love
I pray to the almighty that you
Find love, get married and get loads of children
For you all that have found it,
It aint easy and nurture it
Been there and
In the midst of all the tears
Laughter and Peace comes from it
Patience pays,
Be good lovers, mothers and wives
More so make me proud
To all My boys,
I've known some of you forever
Some of you for a short while but feels like a lifetime
Smile at the memory of 'crackhead'
Keep doing what you do
Am proud of you
Chase em dollars
To all those who knew me,
From any angle of my life
All my facebook friends,
Just my hello friends
for all those who never got a
Chance to know me
Intimately or even talk to me
Be good people
Smile, it was my signature
Talk your hearts out
just dont step on anyone toes
And Finally.........
If i made a promise to you and never kept I’m sorry it was not deliberate
Those that I owe lunches, dinners, and drinks etc have it in my memory
Just to let you know
you all made a difference in my life
Thanks
If you are reading this
Tears flowing down your cheeks
Others filled with emotions
Dont know how to react
Am still here it is just poetry
Just give me a call

And am not there to see
If the sun should rise and find your eyes
Filled with tears for me
I wish so you wouldnt cry for me
Thinking of all the things
we said and never said
Please understand that an angel
Came and called me by name
And said that my place is ready
In heaven far above
If tomorrow never comes
Grace:
Just know i love you to bits
You are my sister and you mean more than the world to me
Above all, Lets make mum proud
I have not been the perfect of people
for there is no perfect person
But i have been the best i could
Probably the best possible
Papa,
It hasnt been easy raising me
I made you laugh and wonder loads
I watched too many movies in my teenage hood
Worse never missed a line in my life
I hope in my little life
I have made up for all the times i annoyed you
I hope you are proud of me

A Tale of Two Women

She cooks, cleans and even does my laundry
She doesn’t even lift a finger when she comes over
She is boring and predictable in bed
She is adventurous in bed
She is a nice person and everyone likes her
She is rude and my friends avoid her
She is dependable and always there
She is very unreliable and never keeps promises
She loves me and it shows
She is obsessed with me
She doesn’t mind my women friends
She hates my best friend coz she’s a woman
She always keeps her cool even when she is angry
She is short tempered and violent

Love is Never On Her Side
Everytime she fell in love
It was always with wrong kind,
Too tall, too short, too fat, too thin
Too dark, too light wasn’t the issue
She gives her all, only for them
To stumble on,
Darkness fell when she cried,
Dawn broke while still crying.
She prays constantly but in vain,
She asks God why but no answer,
She lives a life of loneliness,
Pursuing what she knows best but NOTHING
Seems to take the pain off her,
Her life is like a routine,
Man after man but no happiness,
Books bought, talk Show watched NOTHING,
She was blessed with everything,
Physique, intelligence you name it,
She has it all,
It’s like she has an aroma of ‘badness’,
When it comes to relationships,
She chooses the finest things in life,
Her jewelry, her make up, her walk and all,
Said she was a woman and more,
The perfume she wears only her pockets know
Successful men want her,
But fear of what she has, overcomes them,
If only she could find him,
Him that is fitted for her

Wisdom

There are things he will never understand,
like why her soul smiles when he holds her hand,
or why Cadbury makes her glad,
and soppy movies leave her sad,
Why a cheeky 'thank you'
isnt a proper response to 'I Love You',
that to her the moon is more beautiful than the sun,
and staying indoors is her idea of fun,
He wonders why her eyes are so brown,
and touching her neck makes her howl,
why she'd snub the 'fro & cornrows,
to cut her hair to where her ears show,
But what he does know is so much more,
like how to tickle her till her sides get sore,
listen to her and comfort her soul,
He knows when to chide her,
and when not to let the hurt turn into a scar,
how to write her poetry and sweetest texts,
poke her in facebook and call when she least expects,
Have her back and cheer her on,
believe in her dreams if only he alone,
Be the Man,
and cook for his Woman,
Play along with her games,
and not think they are lame!
So on the scales of know and dont know,
the wisdom of his gentle soul clearly shows,
and now it is she who will never understand,
how she got so lucky that it is him who holds her hand...

Child of the Wind
He goes unnoticed just like the
Gentle breeze, his efforts
Not worthy of topic
He walks through the streets like
A ghost, invisibility being his
Specialty as no one knows him.
Though unnoticed he always smiles saying
“Sometimes the wind is felt” and his time
To blow hadn’t reached and
Wouldn’t let fear deter him.

The Virus
Silently I creep, unseen unknown
I develop, multiply grow spread.
Still unseen I encroach deeper and deeper
Enfeebling destroying.
I outwit others, making them inferior
Still unseen cause death and misery.
Through promiscuity I prowl to predominate
My predecessor allowing no room for failure
In my mission against humanity.

By My Side
I have been through a lot
And I am here today
Because I remained strong
And managed to overcome
But to be honest
I would never have made this far
If you had not been by my side God

Conscience
He always consults me before I
Consult him.
Though always right I
Tend to defy him due to my
Human nature.
He confronts me when am down
Always building my confidence
Though often condemning my Actions.
He always travels with me
Never leaving me behind
nor I Leaving him, him being the
Perfect partner.

A Million Miles Away
Dreams come and go, we are what we are today because of the dreams that we once had in the past, we are forced to sacrifice lots of our pleasures in order to achieve one dream. Its not easy to give birth to a bigger baby and the same is for dreams.
At times we get hurt and disappointed but we still have to stand strong because only the strong survive. It is a world of the strong surviving.
In our journey of surviving we meet so many obstacles that at times threaten to bring us down but we should know that the world needs us and that we should never give up.
We meet people who at times tend to make us inferior but we should not feel inferior because someone made us to.
I learnt to tell myself “I am so special and nothing in the world will ever make me inferior, I may not be the best but am sure so sure I could swear with my own life am not the worst. I love myself and I will never allow anything to harm me. I am responsible for my life and I will never forgive myself if anything ever happened to a part of me. I have a life to live a dream to make come true, a goal to achieve and a duty to perform to the society. I can make it through the rain I can stand up whenever I fall down once again on my own.”
With these in mind I can bet I am a million miles away from my setbacks.
There is nothing impossible on the face of the earth just focus and am certain you can do it.
I DID IT WHY CANT YOU DO IT???????????
C’MON WAKE UP AND WORK TOWARDS ACHIEVING YOUR GOALS.
