Beautiful being come close to me
Let me touch you and make you feel
Loved like never before.
Beautiful being let me into your life
And let me complete you
And fulfill your needs.
Beautiful being let me into your world
So That I can understand you better
And only bring happiness to you.
Beautiful being come close to me and let me
Feel your essence and let us become
One for my love for you is real.

I Stopped Missing You

I stopped missing you the
Day you stopped showing me that you cared
It was always about you
And me being there for you
And never the vice versa
We always have meaningless conversation
Leading to arguing and not talking to each other
It was always about you
And never thinking of how I feel
Or how am doing.
I stopped missing you even though
I love you. Strange but true
I let my heart feel the hurt
But not anymore.

The Person That I Am
I have 1000 reasons to smile, I face my present with confidence, I prepare for the future without fear and I love unconditionally. I carry the weight of the world on my shoulders but I still stand as strong as ever. I cry when am happy, I smile when am uncertain about tomorrow and I manage to laugh even when am angry.
At times I get hurt, heart broken disappointed and desperate yet I still remain strong because the world needs me, I make the world go round , without me the world remains at a standstill so I have to do what I can to hold the world in one piece
WHO AM I?
I AM A PRINCESS AND MY NAME IS A WOMAN. I AM SO STRONG, THE STRONGEST THAT HUMANITY HAS EVER SEEN. MY STRENGTHS AMAZE MEN MY only PROBLEM IS THAT AT TIMES I FORGET MY WORTH.

My Love

Take my hand,
and place it to you heart,
for in it i place my all,
my life, my love...
i am no longer mine,
for even in death
will my love belong to you.
Put your lips in mine awhile,
and let me draw life anew;
for in you i live again.
Let me feel the taste of life
through your lips;
a new life, our life.
Let me write your name
across(in) my heart;
it is no longer mine.
Let each heartbeat
curve (a)the letters
writ in love -
and as long as my heart will beat,
so shall my love for you radiate.
Let the world over,
hear my ode.
Let the passing wind,
whisper my words of love.
over land and sea.
Let them resound
in the lips of all who hear..
the words of my love,
I Love You.

His Jaded Past
He stares at himself in the mirror, thoughts flow in his mind. .
He stares at his soulless, empty eyes. The worth of life stripped from them by you.
Eyes that once sparkled showed so much love whenever they saw you. A soul that sang and longed for you every time you were away. .
His eyes are now filled with pain and rejection. Everything is fading away. This is proof that his past is jaded. .
He stayed by your side, loved you for everything he was worth. Yet he received in return bruises. . Bruises of the heart.
Though your paths have now separated and lives lived apart. The aftermath of your brutality, so called love still creates a cold, fearful shiver in him. .

Appreciation
On behalf of all poetry lovers I want to give a vote of thanks to you and your colleagues for your continued determination in the good work that you are doing as you have made the impossible possible by creating an avenue for writers to expose their work.
I strongly believe that behind every poem theirs a great story behind it that helps the writer shape his/her words in their mind and transform them into feelings on paper and communicates the significance of their experience through appropriate forms of language that makes the poem tick. More so I’ve been following your blog and to say the truth articles posted there are good and even better than some of mine the most recent one being “your wife” by Barbra Karuana.
I don’t have much to say only that, continue doing the good work and remember that the process of growing a tree is slow but inevitable.
***Lion Hunter, a member of the group 'wamathai' on facebook posted this on the group's discussion board recently and i felt that i should share it.

Imperfect: A poem from my conscience
I am imperfection,
The scars of my indiscretions criss-cross my being,
my heart beats as my soul weeps,
a trillion thots flick back and forth in heavy rotation,
my waters ebb and do not flow,
my inner glow flickers...intermittently
there's no bridge over these troubled waters,
only a weighted conscience that constantly falters,
battling easy questions that demand difficult answers,
a sweet melody with no dancers,a dungeon full of daggers,
torn up inside,
burdened with "If I's",
till I finally accept that i am imperfection,
a simple girl with such limitations,
woken up to the fact tht itz no justification,
but a call to rethink my life's destination

Friends (More Than?)
We are friends you see
And have been from way back
I love her and she is special to me
I recently realized that I have
Feelings of a romantic nature for her
I know that if I tell her this
Things might get complicated
And she might get hurt in the process
So I have no choice but to end our friendship

Wining and Dining
We were wining and dining when we heard a knock at the door. We immediately wondered how she had passed through the last door to this room because the guards had been trained to be the best and no one was allowed through, not after what happened when we allowed the last visitor in.
The knock was that type you couldn't ignore but when I stood to answer it, God told me not to. I insisted that I wanted to and His pleas to ignore the knock fell on my deaf ears, I was determined to know who it was.
That's how she got into my life. Her stay changed my entire life. Worse still, she visited chambers in my soul that no man was allowed to access.
Her stay changed my relationship with God. She became closer to me than Him and I became fonder of her presence. God warned me that she would leave but she made me believe she was there to stay.
I opened chapters of my life that only God and I knew about. I allowed her to reach forbidden depths in my soul that even I myself had never reached.
So when she left, I was devastated. She just got up one day and announced that she was leaving, just like that without warning. I was devastated, destroyed and wrung out of any emotion and feelings I had.
She had robbed all of my deepest emotions, all of my sacred feelings and left leaving my chambers empty and cold.
I was ashamed to face God for He had warned me. So when I was finally giving in to my woes, He patted my shoulder n told me, 'Son, I am always here 4r u no matter what u do. Just never allow anyone to try n share space with me. I am your father and nothing can take that space. I can't share time and space with anyone. Always remember that.'
We went back to our dining table and our relationship grew tighter and deeper than before. We replaced the guards and since then, no one has ever been allowed to the secret chambers where we wine and dine with God!

Forgiveness (Asking For)
I stand before this court not for the world and its occupants to judge or sympathize with me but, your majesty, I stand here to free my heart from the uneasy feeling that has engulfed it hoping that the world will hold no hard feelings against me and that instead, the world will hold out its hands for me to hold and feel better.
I have a case to plead but before I do, your majesty allow me to quote from my heart.
‘When it rains we don’t see the sun but its there, we all don’t always see each other but we are supposed to be there for one another. A true friend is like a pillow!!!when you are sad, you drop your tears on it, when tired you sleep on it,when angry you punch it and when happy you hug it. Thats how the world should be.’
As quoted above, am a failure your majesty. I wasn’t a pillow for my friends when they really needed me and for that I plead guilty.
On several occasions I have made decisions that have hurt my friends, not because I wanted to hurt them but because I wanted all of us to meet our needs at the same level but that ended up in bitter exchange of words and I was left hopeless.
I tried a third party when things got so bad hoping that we would get back together but instead my friend thought that I did it to betray our friendship and the vows that we had.
Lonely and desperate to make friends I kept to myself what I really felt and made friends elsewhere, this made my friends wounds fresher and deeper because they thought that I had thrown what we had deep into the gutters.
Deep inside my heart I knew that they were hurting as much as I was but I did not know how to get back to their hearts to say I was sorry.
Left helpless and desperate I decided to talk to them to free my conscience but when I made that call someone else’s voice barred me from the link I would have forged. I did not know what else to do.
Your majesty, am hopeless, desperate and hurting because I don’t want to lose this friend. He/she is all I got. I have pleaded and stated my case, you have a call to answer here I am awaiting my sentence and the say of the world.
Your majesty while sentencing me please remember that its not only me, there are many more like me in the world and we all hope to get our friends back because its only once in a life time that we find a friend who not only touches our hearts but also our souls, once in a lifetime, we discover someone who stands beside us and not over us, once in a lifetime, if you are lucky, you will find someone as I found them.
Your majesty, very special people are those we talk with, laugh with, hope with and lean on……….PEOPLE LIKE YOU BEAUTIFUL PERSONS.

In Holy Matrimony!
When God decided that I was to come from Adam's lineage and be a man, he knew I would need a companion.
So when he took a rib from me and made you from Eve's lineage, he knew we would be together the instance you were born!
It is therefore in utmost humility that I knelt before a princess and asked for your hand in marriage. I technically also needed my rib back!
So let's kneel before our King and let Him bless the union of two souls into one Love. Let's dedicate this match as we have made it on earth so is it made in heaven.
Let's conceive it in our hearts and confess it by our mouths that we are joined...

Nunga
I had this friend once. Let’s call her Tabby. I loved this girl, more than I’d loved many of the friends I’ve ever made in this life and to be very sincere, I knew that she and I would be friends to the very end. She would be there to watch me grow up and me there to watch her. She would be there when I had my first babies and probably end up being the Godmother of one if not more of those babies. And I was very, very grateful that she was my friend because as far as I was concerned, she really was one of those people who I believed would accept me with all my shortcomings and love me anyway. She understood my “evil” ways and helped me find humor in even the crappiest of situations and I often wondered how life had ever gone on without her. In short, to me she really was the perfect friend.
Unfortunately, just as humans do when we have those things that are as close to perfection as life will probably ever bring us, we fuck up. I fucked up. And I hurt her perhaps more deeply than either one of us thought was even possible. Sometimes, we honestly don’t realize the extent of influence that others have on our lives until that connection is tested. So I guess in this situation, the test of forgiveness came, as is inevitable in every friendship. I don’t really know how bad the effect of my betrayal was because the funny thing is; she never even showed me that something was terribly wrong. She just went on with life as usual and like the oblivious individual I can sometimes be, I was not keen enough to notice that something was very wrong with my friend. And so she just waited and waited for the time that she knew our lives would no longer be as involved as they once were and we wouldn’t see each other as often. She waited patiently for the time when she would be rid of me.
Like the good friend that I proclaimed myself to be, I struggled to keep in touch. I called, I texted, I went to visit. I thought that although I could feel some distance that perhaps it was just the effect of the change of logistics of our lives that had taken a toll on our friendship. I was dead wrong.
I sought her out more and more and as the periods of silence on her end got longer and longer, it still didn’t hit me what she was trying to do. Not until the day when she finally put it out there in a way that some may consider noble but others may see as down-right cold. I pick the former.
I still have that text somewhere. She was blunt. She said that she wasn’t able to pretend to herself or to me that she wanted to be friends with me anymore. She had lived enough pretenses for the last couple of years and she’d had enough of what a burden it had been. She wasn’t willing to do that again. And so she politely but firmly asked me to make a graceful exit from her life. She told me not to call, text or go to see her again. That text hit me like a bullet to the brain. I still remember sitting on my bed paralyzed by surprise and then surprise turned into indignation as my ego kicked in…and then sorrow as I realized what a gem I had lost. Then came the torment of trying to recall what I may have done to make her act that way. And when I finally realized my fault, there really was nothing I could have done to amend things because even I, who knew her only fairly well in comparison to those who knew what a puzzle she truly was, knew that I, had crossed the line. I had crossed the line so much that it was hardly still in view.
I apologized for my folly and just as she’d asked, I made the graceful exit. It’s been about a year since I got that text and as strange as it may sound, I thank her for her brutal honesty. I miss her immensely but I know that her telling me the painful truth that she could never ever look at me the same was probably one of the best things anyone has ever done for me in my life so far. She spared me the pain of the betrayal that she may have resorted to in the future. She was true to herself and for that I can only respect her. But most of all, she was true to the promises of our friendship where we always promised one another that we would be sincere to one another and real. And I can’t imagine her being any realer than this…can you?
Imagine the drama that we could spare ourselves and others if we would only know when the hurt was far beyond our control and take the road less travelled and just let go of those people who had destroyed our trust beyond repair. Imagine not having to sit around waiting for the opportunity to hurt them back and be consumed by that hatred and resentment. Imagine what peace there is in just walking away and loving YOURSELF FIRST. It may be painful and uncomfortable to dismiss these people from our lives, especially when they have been such a fundamental part of life for a long time. However, I learned from Tabby that sometimes letting go is the only true way to heal and be free. And I pray that wherever she is, she knows that I know she did the right thing.

Your Wife
To be able to see the man that you’ve become,
The man that time has made you.
Your ambitions,
Your hopes,
Your dreams and disappointments.
To be able to kiss you again and again through the ages,
Through the anger and the pain,
Through the joy and the glee.
To be able to appreciate your lost youth,
And kiss your wrinkles and beards.
To be able to love you
Regardless of forgotten glory
And faded praise.
To be able to still be the one that you need, to have your day have gone right.
To be the one that you have loved, hated, despised, adored…
To be the one that you still cannot live without.
To be the one whose tears you have wiped
And who has kissed away yours.
To be your strength, your fortress
The mother of your line
The lover of your soul
To be,
your wife.

Breasts
The beauty of the breast
Of a being made from the rib
Of man who adores that beauty
May it live long.
The beauty of the breast,
May it stand that solemn test
In a world torn apart by disease.
May it be kept in a cool and dry place
Out of reach of breast cancer,
For it's fragile, to be handled with care!
James Kisiah
We need to appreciate to love and appreciate them
Girl look in the mirror and embrace them
And don't forget to thank God for them
Because not every one has breasts like yours
Lucy Ndinda
Beautiful is what you are
Everyone from babies to grownups love you
Life without you would just be impossible
We love you breasts

Impossible Love
Sometimes I keep wishing for this love, a love that seems so impossible.
It has always been obvious when they r gonna make a move and make me their next prey
the glances, the goodies and the attention. I've always known when and what to expect.
When they finally throw the dart, well not all score. Some (sorry if I sound insulting) were definitely unqualified but they insisted then finally gave up.
Those who were lucky got the chance to be part of my crazy little world but they all screwed up. I know i dint screw up coz they all came back for another chance, for a love like mine... ha ha
I am done playing this seemingly boring game. I need something unique, explicit, irresistible, real. I need him to win me over without my knowledge, i wanna go like '...how come i never saw that coming'. I need him to concentrate on what’s inside (my personality) rather what’s outside (my appearance). Love ends sometimes but i need him to realize that sometimes love dies to live again.
I need him to be perfectly honest. I need him to tell me something like 'sorry baby, i cant seem to go on with this anymore, I’m attracted to another woman'
OR 'sorry baby, i screwed up real bad, last night i slept with another woman'
It will hurt like hell but i'd rather know than believe that he is a saint. I'll take it as a woman who knows that a man gotta do what a man gotta do just like a woman gotta do what a woman gotta do. In this era of all sorts of mysteries and deadly diseases I'll thank him in good faith. I know of course that no one is perfect, I aint either.
I know this sounds rather unimaginable or weird (whatever u wanna call it) but i keep wishing for this love, A love that seems so IMPOSSIBLE.

Road trip!
Sitting cosily in a van of 9
Full to capacity
Journey on a long trip
We were comfortably seated
Past the hustle and bustle of the city
Heading out of town for the weekend
I loved the sound of those words
Like I loved the feel of living it!
Even if just for a short while
Let me take you back
Back to my cosy seat
I’m trying to snuggle up even when I know
It doesn’t get more comfortable than this
1st class all the way
What to do, what to do?
Do I read a novel by my favourite author?
My eyes feel strained
Do I listen to this minute & convenient music machine?
Ear plugs in place, I don’t think I can handle noise
Do I sip on some strawberry yoghurt as I watch a movie?
Already well fed and hydrated like a mosquito
With an attention span of a mosquito.
Do I rack my brain trying to get to know my party….?
Plenty of time for that later on
All the while half sitting and half…laying like I’m sleeping
Do I?.....
Do I?......
Aaah! Too much debate!
This is meant to be a vacation
But ‘taking a nap’ option doesn’t seem to raise any debates within
As I try to revenge on those sleepless nights
Sleep came to me sweet and easy
And I became totally oblivious of my equally relaxed party of ….
Mmmmm…! Who cares how many and who they are!
So I’m sinking deeper and deeper
Drooling while the slight swaying of the van
Rocks me to even deeper slumber
I don’t want to wake up if it feels this good!
So I’m slowly letting go…..
Letting go until ……….
Suddenly!
Someone removed their shoe‼!

Days
I'm gonna be a mama some day,
my belly will swell and the world will tell that within me
a beautiful being is slowly forming tiny toes and fingers,
filled with angelic shine, her mama's smile and her papa's eyes,
I'm gonna get published one day,
golden calligraphy will spell my name,
' Excellent work', the world will proclaim
as shelves will fill with my soul's voice in paragraph and tense,
I'm gonna get a tattoo on my birth's day,
endure the sting to have this cool thing
that some guy will ink and in a couple blinks,
a magic mandarin mannerism
or just cool kyuk in cursive will artistically run across my ankle,
I'm gonna sky jump on a Thursday,
kiss the sky like the birds, float on a cushion of nothingness,
defy newton's apple, i'll greet the earth in slow motion,
pulling it to my core as I become gravity
I'm gonna get married on a sunny day,
dance down the aisle barefoot, and smiling all the way,
we'll be goofy him and I,sing our vows without refrain,
create a rhythm in which we will remain,
and that first matrimonial kiss,
will be as the sun bows down to bless our bliss,
Im gonna... I will...I have ta...all i have to do is pick a day

Haterade Martini
Short and stout are my dimensions,
And baibe I have no objections,
See I was fired in my mother's kiln and blessed with my father's wit,
I am perfection,
But sadly that doesn't grab your attention,
See,your chasing the mini skirts and bared flesh,
While im all about t-shirts and flared pants,
I'm not the girl on the billboards,
I'm no yellow yellow and my hair's my own,
But baibe she's got nothing on my IQ scores,
I worry and pray about my CATs,
While she frets and pouts about her zits,
But hey i might be wrong about her and i'll take it back pretty fast,
What bugz me is why do i feel like i always come last?
So what if my face isnt on tv?
Nigga atleast with me you wunt get a VD!
You know i sat and wondered what i saw in you, damn!
I cant believe you were once my smart-do-no-wrong-certainly-knwz-best mister man?
You fed me alphabetic lies,Am with my Boys i'll Call u later,
Like the msg template on your phone i was your disused option,
You dint love me lyk my Creator,
See,im a teetotaller but im popping open this Haterade Martini,
Sipping a glass as I place a cross on the grave of your misdeeds,
And when you went on to get with your pin-up model,
I was out of that door, pumping the gas on MY hard earned Ford model.

A Beautiful Rose
They say there are seasons, they say that time will heal but neither seasons nor time can change the way i feel because no one knows the heartache that lies beyond my smiles. No one knows how many times i have broken down and cried neither do i but i guess my God knows.
Am feeling all out of place, throwing things, crying and trying to figure out where the hell i went wrong
You were all i got, you had such a beautiful soul and such a big heart. It was too early for you to leave and you know the most hurting part? You never said a word not even a common good bye you just walked out the door and out of my life for good. I must admit though that i will never set eyes on you ever again and that for me, life will never be the way it used to be.
I saw the earth swallow you up in that coffin, it’s a part of me that i wish i could forget but its not easy, I have cried for so many nights hoping that someone will shake me from this horrible nightmare but its been too long and i don't think someone will ever do that for me.
When you were lowered into the earths belly, my soul was lowered with you and now i just can’t move on. Life is such a torture to the remaining pieces of me.
I wish i had time to prepare for the worst but we both did not have the time it all happened so fast. I know that wherever you are, you want me to stop crying myself to sleep every night but i want you to know one thing; I have tried but the tears keep coming, they keep flowing and its because my soul is in pieces, my heart is burning, my feet are unstable and my brain is overloaded all these combined, they are too much for me to carry so i keep falling down and i keep crying too.
I guess am not strong enough but does my strength count? No it doesn't if it were in consideration, then you would have lived a little longer to give me time to gather some strength.
As i go on writing.......my tears too keep flowing but one thing is for real, the pain reflected in this article is not even half of what i feel deep inside me.
At times i ask myself why were you picked and all i come up with is that our heavenly father found you too good to be with me so he decided to take you home.
Everyday in my prayers there are things that i keep asking him.” Please father, allow him into your heavenly kingdom if you can, throw him in hell if you must but please don't throw him to the scrap pile.
My beautiful rose, i have nothing to live for but i still live through, I have no reason to smile but i still smile not because life is full of reasons to smile but because my smile is enough reason for other people to smile.
You were a beautiful rose that shouldn't have been picked from my bed of roses but now that you were picked MAY YOUR BEAUTIFUL SOUL REST IN ETERNAL PEACE. LOVE ALWAYS.

ICE
Chilly to the touch
hard and immobile
unapproachable and heartless; cold.
An attempted kiss isn't bliss
just frostbitten lips.
But when it melts
it is fluid and warm
aromatic, steamy, dreamy
it soothes me greatly
as i swim and explore, shore to shore.
It pulls me in deep
covers my soul like sweet sleep
and I sink, going down, down, down
I cannot be found
and I drown.
Behold my dilemma:
Ice will freeze me and leave me
shivering and miserable, lonely.
Yet liquified it engulfs me
in it's seductive caress
and I am helpless.
I cannot escape it
for it is with me daily.
Therefore: I shall keep my affections to myself
during winter
Then, when the spring comes
I'll wear my flippers and aqualung
and go swimming in the deep.

Dream Date
I had been eyeing him for quite some time but he didn't seem to notice all the attention that i was directing his way. Just when i was about to give up, he surprised me by saying hi. We set up a date at his house for later that week. I was so excited that on the material day I arrived 30 minutes early. He seemed unperturbed by that and he gave me a warm welcome. He was cooking and whatever it was smelled good. He turned out to be a great cook and she really enjoyed the food. He was also very good company. They watched a movie afterwards and when it ended they headed to the balcony. They cuddled and naturally they kissed. She put her hands in his shirt and massaged his chest but he didn’t seem to like that because he started to squirm and removed her hands. He was also talking different and saying something that she couldn’t quite make out. It was at that point that she woke up to find herself in a bus next to a stranger. It became apparent that the date was a dream. She was so embarrassed and couldn’t wait to reach her destination and get as far away from him as possible. The stranger, who wasn’t so bad looking, was a good sport about the whole thing though and made her feel comfortable with his jokes and interesting stories. Her embarrassment was soon forgotten and she enjoyed the rest of her journey.

When the Opposite Happens
There was nothing wrong with him, he was in fact very attractive, but he just wasn’t her type. She wouldn’t even have accepted his dinner invitation had he not asked so nicely. As she was getting ready for their date her pal helped her plot an escape plan in case things became unbearable. She also wore an incredibly tight pair of jeans in case she got drunk and he got ideas. It was no mean feat though and she had to jump up and down for quite a while to get into them.
So he came to pick her up and out to dinner they went. It went really well considering her earlier reservations. He had a sense of humour and interesting conversation. There was more to him that met the eye and she was so glad that she had agreed to come. For some reason she felt safe with him and she duly informed her pal via sms that the escape plan would not be required that night. After dinner they went out dancing and he turned out to be a terrific dancer. The night out was so much fun but it had to come to an end. He took her home, kissed her cheek and turned to leave but she held his arm and invited him inside, something she hadn’t done in a while. She fixed him a drink but he didn’t even get to taste it. She set it on the table and when he reached for it she reached out and kissed him. Things got hot and heavy and she suggested they take it to the bedroom. He carried her there and they started undressing each other but try as they might they couldn’t take the jeans off her. It was ironical really, she had worn them to keep him out. She proposed that they cut or rip them but he took their not coming off as a sign and he insisted they just hold each other and sleep. He was such a gentleman.

Behind This Smile

The always say its a beautiful smile,
Ever smiling, they call me,
Some loudly ask why am ever smiling?
I chuckle a little and say, "It's what I do"
They accept that answer, never asking questions
But its not the truth
Because there's so much hidden behind this smile.
My friends train with me, asking if they hit too hard when I wince
I smile at them, and they think there's no problem.
That night when no one's around, though
If they stopped by and checked in on me,
they'd see a little bit
of what lies hidden behind this smile.
I sit here, looking at the screen
whenever I type something, I insert some form of smiley.
As the tears fall down my face,
I muffle the sobs, trying to keep all in the dark
of what lies hidden behind this smile.

Random Thoughts 05.10.09
My boy recently drunk dialed his ex and told her some stuff that killed any hope of them ever getting back together. After the drama that followed, i don’t even think that she’ll ever talk to him again. It got me thinking about how wise it is to keep the number of someone you had relations with (and have either broken up in the case of a relationship or moved on in the case of a fling). When each person goes their separate ways there are sometimes (if not always) unresolved issues and some people don’t have the guts to talk about what’s in their hearts there and then. They wait until a period of time has elapsed and then call to speak their mind. Some do it when they are high which in my opinion, is a disaster (although some go badly even if the calling party is sober). These calls never end well and shouldn’t be made at all. What do you think?

Aziza
Aziza, fast gaining ground with the reputation of striking an excellent balance between exotic and authentic African, is an afrofusion band made up of 3 gentlemen: Enos Olik, Sequiera Mogere, Maurice Muma. The vocal duo of Enos and Sequeira, spiced with Maurice’s silky touch of the violin creates a feel that has kept most audiences riveted, and nudged many others onto the dance floor.
Aziza began as an acapella group in 2007 according to Enos Olik: “The original idea was, ‘We love music, let’s do this while we are in school, and continue briefly after school as we wait to join campus!’ because those were the days when Eric, Suzanna used to rule the circuit, so we figured, why not have fun with it?!”
After a while though, it occurred to them that acapella didn’t quite have the ‘it’ they were looking for in terms of uniqueness and identity in music and so adds Sequiera “That’s when Bienaime Baraza of Sauti Sol suggested we find ourselves musically, get an identity of our own. That’s how we came up with the idea of using guitars and the violin.”
They didn’t quite have a name at this point; “After one performance,” says Maurice, “A lady came up to us and said, ‘Muziki yenu ni ya aziza!’ a word which, we came to discover, meant ‘wonderful’ in Giriama, and ‘precious’ in Egyptian, so we decided, why not?!”
They cite their inspiration as Lokua Kanza, Richard Bona and Jonathan Butler.
They have worked together with such fantastic artistes as:
• Dela in writing her track ‘Weche Tek’
• Delvin Mudigi (of Sauti Sol) in ‘Better Day’
• Meshack in ‘Aluoch’
• Meshack and Bryan Chweya (of Elani) in ‘Siimbii pesa’
• Wakoli in ‘Barabara’
• Joan Matata in ‘Dreamer’
With several years’ worth of musical creativity and live performances under their belt, the pressure is building from several quarters for an album which the band members say is in the pipeline.
Aziza has a couple of performances coming up:
• 8th October, at KP’s Lounge, from 7.30pm
• 28th October, at the Kenya National Theatre concert hall, from 6.00pm

Emotion Less
Emotion is but a notion, as tangible as air,
a facade held by souls and hearts beyond repair,
it is tasteless, yet addictive, and horribly despairs,
those blinded by it remain hopelessly impaired,
Emotion be not your pedestal, you will infinitely fall,
a driver's wisdom chooses not an engine that will stall,
don't jump into a pit if your not ready to crawl,
i fear you don't see here all i am trying to scrawl...
Love hurts, and anger destroys,
sorrow murders what happiness enjoys,
Fear creates, what bravery is too blind to bear witness,
Pain's hollows is near poetic, joy's impervious redress.
So choose not to feel, it clearly fades its worth,
is feeling to be human, or a disease we're seized at birth?
young protege, be wise, follow my words, think twice,
emotion could very well be the cause of your demise...

a facade held by souls and hearts beyond repair,
it is tasteless, yet addictive, and horribly despairs,
those blinded by it remain hopelessly impaired,
Emotion be not your pedestal, you will infinitely fall,
a driver's wisdom chooses not an engine that will stall,
don't jump into a pit if your not ready to crawl,
i fear you don't see here all i am trying to scrawl...

Lost Half

I miss you, my heart needs you to care. It needs you to love. . Without you it dies. . Without you it has no reason. .
My heart is sad, its crying, bloody tears of the heart because it learnt alot from you, now l can be myself. .
I know who l am, you taught me to reveal myself from the way you always say "there's nothing wrong with that"
I had forgoten how to smile, how to see a bit further beyond every misery but now l can, somehow l always see a positive in the worst thing that happens. .
I had forgoten how to be me, burried everything deep inside hidden from others but now l can be myself. . I can talk about my deep kept dark feelings because l know that you will always listen and understand. .
Thank you for being that part that l failed to ignore when l was ignoring the whole world. .

Es-ty Speaks 06.10.09
I am writing my thoughts down for the first time and I have reservations about it but on the other hand I’m the girl with the big personality (I think that's a kind word for annoying and loud Ha ha) and so a life of secrecy is not my thing (other than when some guy dumped me and i told everyone that I was the one who did the dumping Haha...you see what i meant...no secrecy). I finally got a job in an organization where everybody (including my supervisor) is too busy to deal with the intern even after i put on my super sweet face and my normal bra (not the push up one that's for interviews and first dates). So I’m going with the proactive approach, the I'll ask and ask until you answer me. I have to move from this intern position to something with a door title Haha.
My thoughts are an organized mess in writing and speech so do pardon the random sputter.
About that boyfriend who dumped me, let’s call him Tim (to hide his real name which is Tim Haha...finally i can vent). So Tim was/is not my type since my type is cute, neat and an eye candy (oh yeah I've never dated a dude who's not hot...i carry vanity on my sleeve). So we had been going out (i think) for a while i was a rebound from my one year break up (something to make me feel better). This rebound thing with Tim was very physical. Then he started talking funny in the morning and making me breakfast. That confuses a girl you know, especially if it’s in the morning before I’ve drunk my first cup of coffee. So suddenly this guy who has these shoulder length dreadlocks looks and is too dark-ish for my taste seems interesting enough to have a thing with huh. Oh what the heck i could make him 40% my rebound dude, 30% my clande, 10% my night boyfriend and 20% could be whatever my mood swings felt like. A couple of weeks into the thing i had with Tim, I was seen by his boys saw me making out with some dude at a club and predictably they told on me. So Tim called and requested for a meet the next day and when I showed up he told me to what his boys saw. If you ask me, i never did anything wrong. I had always wanted to make out with the guy at the club so he had priority over Tim and it’s better i got it out o the way earlier than later when that 10% increased. I was also drunk and everyone understands what alcohol does to girls, they loose balance so i lost my balance tripped and fell on his lips...ooops. Then dude its just kissing and lastly its hearsay and hearsay is not admissible evidence..:) I convince Tim to hang around, i gel him up nicely and we are back on. Couple of weeks later he seems distant so i snoop in his phone (naturally) to find saucy texts between him and some lady, forgive me i meant Slore (i.e. slut+whore) who i know. So when Slore saw Tim she blatantly thought he was
not all that and even wondered what i was doing with him (code for why with you and not me...i found that out later). So i ask Tim's friends and word is Slore is being a Slore with him and they are doing all that pertains to sloring with him when i was out of town.
I asked Tim if they were sloring around and he denied it but a sneak a peek in his phone suggested the opposite. The dude had all this love love messages, yes there was a love word thrown in and that’s when i knew it was over. There’s no way I was going to trip over a ten percenter (10%). All i could think of was how Slore had thought that he was 'euugh' when she first met him, what a whore! I swear i threw up in my mouth. I had never been so disgusted and i had never wanted someone out of my house that fast but being that i hate confrontation i figured that he'll realize that i'm done with him. Of course i bitched all over facebook on our mutual friends walls. Then removed them as friends and wished them a long life filled with venereal diseases and healthy viruses and while at it maybe take a slow boat to China.
A couple of months later, I saw Slore. She had grown fat, had love handles and a double chin (Haha). That made me happy. I also saw the dude but he avoided me. What a bitch, what would i do...maybe slit his wrists and let him bleed it out...he clearly can’t take a bleeding ha...woose its just a razor Haha! No am kidding maybe i'd pour my drink on him call a bouncer and make sure he gets a beating...or maybe just remained calm...but because he's chicken we'll never know. My reliable sources tell me they broke up. The girl was in shock. Haha. The Slore was in shock (seriously that’s just funny), okay when you steal a girl's ten percent chances are once the mystery is over and he realises that under all the mystery lies a man stealer he’ll leave. Slore's do not have a manual or something Haha. A single miserable fat girl who's binge eating (there goes the waist line) and a sad miserable Tim who keeps on leaving me voice messages and drowning himself in alcohol.
Finally The World is Perfect and these are my first written thoughts.

Appreciation
Unlike the weather and many other things in life
You never change, you are a constant
Always with me, always looking out for me
I wouldn’t be where i am if it weren’t for you
I appreciate everything that you have done
Thank you being there for me God

Happiness

Life was beginning to seem meaningless,
Nothing really mattered anymore,
Everything around me wasn’t working
I had completely given up on love….
The perfect boy seemed like a dream
The perfect relationship was a fading memory
The perfect life was all in my imagination
The perfect love story did not exist
That was before I met you,
Before you showed me love exists
That was before you made my dream come true
Before you showed me I could have the life I wanted…
I know that with you,
Everything matters in a good way
With you everything around me is working
You showed me what I thought I would never see…
HAPPINESS!!

Be Yourself
Do you think that you are too blue
Or that your particular shade is not very appealing
Making you want to introduce a bit of red into your life
Or maybe a splash of green
Well don't have to or rather you don't need to
I like you as you are, no pluses or minuses are required
And those in your life who you mean a lot to, should too

I mis u wen am sad
i mis u wen am lonely
i mis u wen am angry
above all
i mis u wen am happy!!
Bridget 'kapulunye' Wanyaga
A sight,a sweet sight,a sight 4 a soar eye.
A voice,a sweet noise,her voice,it lifts me high.
A face fair,smooth and tender,smooth as a babies thigh.
A touch, your touch, your tender touch my heart complies.
If i could,i would bt ma eyes dont cry.
A part of me has fallen in,the rest of me even deeper still.
A feeling,a strong feeling,resisting it,a lie.
A need so basic,a need 2 share.A need met by a special pair.
A thought, a sad thought,the thought of loosin u, i cannot bare.
David Mishram
Teach this music...n i wont sing an octave hyer or octave lower...
Teach me the sax,n wt it kams the memory of ur 1st syt...
Teach me a hum,i wil lul u 2 bed wt ur fav song my dear!
Teach me 2 love u...
Bridget 'kapulunye' Wanyaga
This heart of mine, once it fell, fell in love.
And now, it's fallin', fallin' out of love.
And it hurts, how it hurts and the pain, the pain dont end.
These tears, oh the tears, I can't quench flow.
This little heart fell in,
n now it's fallin' out of the curse of love but it hurts.
Oh how it hurts!
teri Raphael
As the rain falls n the wind blows,
as time grows old ma heart goes cold.i long 4 her embrace,
i long 2 kis her lips in fil her space
.i stretch forth 2 reach 4her,
so close yet so far.a light that glowed through the night,
through ma heart n gave me sight,
now just a memory 1 i wish 2 fight.it's u now that i love,yes!
u that i love 2 hate.cut off ur eyes n peal off ur face.
cut off ur hands so that no other shall ever feel ur warm embrace.

Life Is So Short..Why Wait.....
Why wait when you know whatever
You wanted in life is right there
Right in front of you.
Its just waiting for you to grab it
And make it your own.
Why wait when we know that life is too short
To keep waiting, accidents happen, God forbid
The French say, ‘La vie est courte, amuse toi bien,
Mais faire attention..’ it means life is too short
Enjoy yourself but be carefull.
They say life is a bitch, and its true.
Distance separates the ones in love
For some, love comes in one way.
And for others it comes in both ways but
It is either abusive, or not satisfying.
Life is sudden but we have to be carefull
Heartbreaks we tend to avoid but without the healing
We wouldn’t learn.
Denial is not just a river in Egypt
It’s a freaking ocean, so, what do you do not to drown in it.
Do you tell that person you love that you cant live
Without them?
Do you let your heart first think then follow it?
I know that the heart never fails but what if
when I decide to wait for my heart to decide,
then life endeavors happen, then comes regret……
Love does not knock often, but if it does
You have to let it in…
Life is too sudden for us to wait…
If you know you love him/her
Tell them
Tell that friend that you are sorry for not
Keeping in touch
And pray to God to keep keeping
You alive to fulfill your fantasies
And to get that that you desire
From the diaries of her making…
